Choose Members' Meeting for historic racing with a club-weekend atmosphere, and sort your GRRC eligibility before booking the hotel. Goodwood confirms the 84th Members' Meeting for Saturday 10–Sunday 11 April 2027 at the Motor Circuit. Tickets are available through the Goodwood Road Racing Club membership and Fellowship route, with guest conditions to check when purchasing.
Our sample stay runs Friday 9–Monday 12 April, giving three nights around the two event days. Chichester is our first base to compare for the station shuttle and an easy evening. Bognor Regis and Midhurst offer different coastal or smaller-town options if their daily transport suits you.
This is a spring meeting, so pack for chilly evenings as carefully as the daytime racing. Smart country-style clothing and practical footwear suit the occasion; a light outfit chosen only for a photograph can be a poor companion to a long outdoor day.
Use the official Members' Meeting page to begin. Our recommendation is to confirm the membership and ticket basket, reserve a suitable room, then build a short list of races and demonstrations around comfortable breaks.

Why go
Our verdict
Our opinion · how the 1–5 scores workCome for a concentrated weekend of historic machinery and club-style sociability. The attraction is spending time close to the cars and enjoying the racing without feeling that every hour needs another major attraction. Pick a grid to follow properly, learn a few entries and let the rest of the programme broaden your interests.
Members' Meeting has a different feel from September's Revival. It is a spring club event with its own clothing style, entertainment and access arrangements. July's Festival of Speed is different again, based around the Hillclimb. Choose the version that fits your group rather than booking solely because all three use the Goodwood name.
The two-day format works well for an enthusiast who wants a full sporting weekend with a manageable amount of leave. A Friday arrival gives you time for a proper meal and a calm start. Monday's return avoids making the last race a deadline for the entire trip.
Our view is that membership is worthwhile only when the actual event and any other benefits interest you. Compare the complete cost with other historic meetings before joining just to obtain tickets. For the right fan, the chance to linger around the machinery and share the occasion is the point of the spending.

2027 tickets — on sale to GRRC Members and Fellows by 17 August 2026.
Admission is exclusively for GRRC Members and Fellows. Fellowship costs £95 per year and gives access to buy Members’ Meeting tickets; membership itself is not event admission (checked October 2026). Official tickets and packages.
The Members’ Meeting FAQ confirms 2027 delivery through Goodwood Tickets App. A weekend ticket can only be shared with one guest across both days; different guests need separate day admissions (checked October 2026).
Share admission with guests through the Goodwood Tickets App; screenshots are not accepted. A guest can return a shared ticket through the app if plans change. Goodwood accepts cancellation, exchange or refund requests only within 48 hours of purchase. Members’ Meeting ticket rules, checked October 2026.
Start with the GRRC membership page. Goodwood states that Members' Meeting tickets are exclusively available through its club community, including Fellows. Membership and event admission are distinct purchases: joining the club is not itself an admission ticket.
Read the current ticket conditions for the number of guest tickets, how they are shared and whether the eligible purchaser must attend. Confirm those details before collecting money from friends. A group should have one clear plan rather than assuming any membership opens unlimited places.
Our ticket allowances include room for the required membership cost as well as admission, so a new visitor can compare the whole basket. An existing eligible member should replace that allowance with the actual incremental ticket cost. Add hospitality only if its food, shelter and viewing justify the difference for you.
For accommodation outdoors, ask about the event's own camping arrangements before planning a tent. Ordinary car parks do not permit overnight sleeping or camping. A room is the default in our model, with a separate official camping purchase considered only once its dates and facilities suit your group.
Check before you book: confirm eligibility, guest limits, renewal terms and the final 2027 ticket basket directly with Goodwood. Keep membership and admission confirmations together.
Buy only from Goodwood or its listed agents. Unofficial sellers may sell invalid tickets.
Hospitality & upgrades
2027 hospitality planning — latest published dining options shown; dated packages and prices need confirmation.
The published Members’ Meeting dining guide names Goodwood House Breakfast: champagne breakfast, optional house tour, hardstanding parking and a private circuit shuttle. Bill Wisdom Restaurant serves breakfast and a two- or three-course lunch; Bill Wisdom Lounge on Richmond Lawn offers grazing boards and estate afternoon tea. These are the latest published dining options, not a confirmed 2027 package inventory; no 2027 prices were displayed when checked in October 2026.
Getting there
2027 travel planning — current Chichester rail and venue-arrival directions checked October 2026; dated station-shuttle details need confirmation.
Take the train to Chichester and use the meeting’s own station connection, detailed on the official getting-here page. London Victoria serves Chichester; journeys from Waterloo connect via Havant. Drivers should follow the event’s signed parking route rather than the nearest estate postcode. Festival of Speed takes place at Goodwood House; Revival and Members’ Meeting use the Motor Circuit, so their gates are not interchangeable. Check the station engineering notice and book the return transfer with the outward journey (checked October 2026).
Rail travellers should search Chichester, then the Members' Meeting station shuttle. The organiser's travel information explains the route to the Motor Circuit. Check the event's own return service rather than borrowing the Festival of Speed timetable, especially if you plan to stay for Saturday evening.
From London, compare Victoria trains with the Waterloo route via Havant. Birmingham, Bristol and Manchester visitors should choose a journey that leaves a comfortable final connection into Chichester. From Newcastle, Edinburgh or Glasgow, a Friday arrival makes the two-day meeting easier to enjoy than an early Saturday dash.
For drivers, follow the Members' Meeting signs and parking instructions as you near Goodwood. Grass parking calls for suitable shoes at both ends of the day. Check any display-car product separately: having an interesting car does not automatically entitle you to a particular enclosure or entrance.
Book the taxi return if that is your preferred final leg, agreeing the permitted collection area and whether the fare changes with waiting. A quiet spring weekend in town can still become busy at the end of an event. Keep enough battery for the pickup message and a flexible dinner plan if the programme runs later than your first estimate.

Search Midhurst stays · 9–12 April 2027 ↗Chichester is our first choice for a straightforward rail-and-shuttle visit. Compare the actual walk from the room to the station, including in the evening, and ask about early breakfast. A nearby town-centre meal is a useful part of the plan when you have spent the day outdoors and would rather not drive again.
Bognor Regis offers a coastal stay with a separate journey through Chichester. It can suit a companion who wants a different daytime plan. Confirm the return connection after Saturday's entertainment before assuming the daily transfer will be easy.
Midhurst is more naturally considered with a car or an arranged transfer. Look at the route from the property, parking and how you reach dinner. A rural room can be appealing, but do not choose it without understanding the transport needed for every event day.
Our searches use Friday 9–Monday 12 April. Keep all three nights if you want a calm arrival and departure. A local visitor may only need one or two, while someone combining the meeting with a Sussex break may want more. Compare the full stay price, breakfast and cancellation deadline rather than the first night's rate. For a group, settle the bed arrangement before booking so nobody discovers that the apparent saving depended on sharing a bed they did not expect.
Search dates: 2027-04-09 to 2027-04-12 (three nights, two adults sharing). An earlier arrival adds another night; change the dates before booking. Match the hotel’s walk to your station or pickup point before reserving.

The table uses two attended days and three nights. Ticket allowances include an amount for obtaining the required club eligibility as a new visitor; replace it with the real membership and admission basket for your party. Mid-range and Splurge add room for hospitality or other comfort, without assuming that membership makes every upgrade free.
The difference between a solo visitor and a group can be significant. Split shared driving and accommodation by the actual travellers, but keep individual admission and meals per person. If one eligible member can buy the group's tickets, use the organiser's confirmed guest rule before allocating the membership cost.
April packing is another practical consideration. Use suitable clothes and waterproofs you already own before spending on a special outfit. Put the money into a warm room or reliable return transfer if those improve the trip more. A comfortable evening often matters more than an optional souvenir.
If hospitality includes meals, reduce the relevant food allowance rather than counting lunch twice. A weekend package should be broken into admission, stay and transport so you can compare it fairly with booking separately. Keep the Sunday night if the alternative is a tiring drive immediately after the final programme.
At the circuit
The Members’ Meeting FAQ confirms a cloakroom beside the Ticket Office, but no lockers. Attendees are assigned to Aubigny, Methuen, Torbolton or Darnley and can join House activities including duck herding and tug-of-war. Pack an evening layer and shoes suitable for grass parking (checked October 2026).
The dining guide also lists Great Hall breakfasts and school-dinner-style meals, Taste of Goodwood’s estate produce, Giuseppe’s Trattoria at Woodcote and the Members Market’s food and live music. The Daffodil marquee supplies a bar, music and activities. These describe the latest published edition; confirm the 2027 layout before choosing a meeting point (checked October 2026).
Bags and picnics: the latest event FAQ confirms entrance bag searches but gives no numerical size limit. Drones, sharp objects beyond sensible picnic cutlery, illegal substances and excess alcohol are prohibited. Picnics are welcome: between two guests, up to one 750 ml wine/champagne bottle or four beers, with no spirits. Picnics and alcohol are excluded from paddocks. The FAQ directs visitors to the Goodwood Motorsport App for the event map and to on-site maps for the hoist/changing toilet. Payment methods, water-refill locations and the final 2027 service layout need confirmation. Checked October 2026.
Venue guidance checked October 2026.
Viewing areas & general admission
Begin with a race you want to understand, then choose a public viewing position where you can settle comfortably. The circuit map shows the relationship between the start area, chicane and farther corners. Give yourself enough time to reach a second location without missing the session you came for.
Paddock access is a major part of the appeal, as described on the official event site. Treat the paddock as a working area: pause for crews moving machinery, keep children close and ask before entering a space that looks operational. A calm visit lets you appreciate details instead of simply passing through.
The hillclimb assumptions from Festival of Speed do not apply here. Members' Meeting is circuit racing, with demonstrations fitted around its own programme. Use the event map and dated timetable to understand where your ticket permits you to go, then choose one or two meaningful viewing changes.
For a mixed group, agree a place to reunite after a paddock visit or quieter break. Keep the clothing practical enough to walk on the permitted paths and grass. A seat or hospitality option can be useful if it provides a reliable resting place, but confirm its actual position and access before buying for that reason.
Event day by day
2026 visitor reference — 2027 detailed programme not yet published. The Members’ Meeting arrival page gives parking and the complimentary Chichester station shuttle from 07:00, gates at 07:30 and track activity from 09:00. Published site closing is 22:00 Saturday and 19:00 Sunday. The detailed 2027 race and demonstration running order remains to be released (checked October 2026).
Friday 9 April is our arrival day. Check in, organise tickets and membership-related instructions, then have a proper evening meal. Save the event map and choose the first session you want rather than spending Saturday morning learning how the ticket app works.
On Saturday 10 April, settle into the venue and divide time between racing and paddocks. Keep a wider gap for lunch and a second viewing area. If you want the advertised Saturday-night festivities, plan the return transport around them before leaving town; an ordinary early evening train may defeat that part of the visit.
Sunday 11 April is for the races and demonstrations you most want, with time to revisit favourite machinery. Leave the room booking through Monday if you want to enjoy the finish without a long-distance deadline. If your journey demands an earlier departure, choose the session you will miss in advance and keep the walking time to the pickup point in the plan.
Check before you book: use the final 2027 timetable and shuttle instructions for exact race allocations, entertainment and last departures. Keep a warm layer for the evening and allow the day to change around track activity.
Back at the room, charge the phone and dry the shoes before packing. A leisurely Monday breakfast is a pleasant finish to two full outdoor days.
Getting back after the race
Book a return to Chichester station or meet your taxi at Car Park D. The published general station-bus description gives the start of service but no final return clock time, so ask before staying for Saturday’s party. The separately described accessibility courtesy service is not the general station bus. Keep warm clothes handy for the walk out after dark and choose a train that allows a delayed departure (checked October 2026).
Before and after the race
- Chichester Cathedral for a city-centre visit.
- Pallant House Gallery for modern British art.
- Weald & Downland Living Museum for a separate countryside day out.
- Farmer, Butcher, Chef for a restaurant and bar booking.
- The Great Sussex Way for West Wittering beach and South Downs day-trip ideas.
- Chichester Festival Theatre — book an evening performance if its programme fits your visit.
A non-fan can enjoy parts of the atmosphere without needing to follow every grid, but give them an independent alternative. Chichester is a useful city-sized plan, with its cathedral, cultural attractions and places for lunch. Use the local visitor guide for opening information and an indoor fallback.
If one person takes the car to the circuit, make sure the other can reach their chosen outing without it. Share room access and the hotel's address, and agree to meet in town rather than promising an exact pickup outside the event. That small separation lets both people enjoy the day at their own pace.
A Bognor Regis stay can support a seaside element, weather permitting. Keep the itinerary simple enough to change if the coast is windy or wet. Midhurst suits someone who prefers a smaller town, provided the property is not so remote that every outing becomes another taxi booking.
For a shared Sussex day, extend the visit after the meeting rather than trying to leave the circuit between races. One outing and a relaxed meal can be a better balance than cramming in several attractions. Ask the companion what would make the trip worthwhile before choosing the base; their answer may be more useful than another hotel filter.
First-timers & families
Pack for April rather than the event photograph. A warm layer, waterproof coat and comfortable shoes deserve space before decorative accessories. Smart, relaxed country-style clothing suits the organiser's guidance; it should still let you walk, sit and stand comfortably for a full day.
For children, bring ear defenders from home and test the fit. Use the event's child admission instructions when booking, and check whether an upgrade or hospitality product has a separate charge. Give them a contact wristband where supplied and a clear rule about staying away from barriers and working machinery.
Keep the day varied. A short race followed by a look at cars and a food break is easier for a first-timer than a long sequence of sessions from one exposed spot. Let each person choose something to see, and make space for someone who wants to sit out a walk.
Check before you book: confirm the current bag, food and child-ticket rules on the organiser's 2027 pages. Have the tickets accessible without relying on a busy mobile signal.
Camping in spring needs a properly warm sleeping setup. For a new family group, a hotel can be the better value once equipment and the need to dry clothes are included. Choose it without feeling you are missing a compulsory part of the experience.
Accessibility
Use the Members' Meeting accessibility page and ask the ticket team about the exact route you need. Parking, mobility hire, viewing and toilet access should be considered together. Give the team enough detail about your equipment and assistance requirements to discuss a specific plan.
The published guidance describes dedicated disabled parking and Shopmobility arrangements. Reserve essential equipment directly and confirm where it is collected, its opening window and how you return to your vehicle. A general courtesy shuttle may not be suitable for every wheelchair or need.
Apply for companion arrangements through the current official process before buying extra tickets. Keep any confirmation alongside membership, admission and parking information. If you arrive by taxi or rail, work through the final drop-off and collection rather than assuming the normal transfer handles all mobility equipment.
Choose a small number of comfortable viewing moves and carry a warm layer and medication with you. Ask about wet-ground alternatives and a quieter place to rest. Confirm the hotel room's actual features as well: an accessible label does not describe its bathroom, bed or entrance clearly enough for everyone. A precise conversation now makes the weekend easier to enjoy.
FAQs
Is Members' Meeting confirmed for 2027?
Yes. Goodwood confirms the 84th Members' Meeting for 10–11 April 2027 at the Motor Circuit. Our sample stay is 9–12 April.
Do I need to join the GRRC?
Tickets are sold through the Goodwood Road Racing Club membership and Fellowship route. Check the current guest rules and purchaser conditions. Membership alone is not an event admission ticket.
Can I turn up and buy at the gate?
Goodwood says tickets must be secured in advance and admission requires a ticket. Complete the eligibility and purchase process before arranging a non-refundable trip.
Is period dress required?
The organiser describes a smart, relaxed country-style event. Use its current style guide and pack warm layers and practical shoes for April. Revival's period theme is a separate occasion.
Can I stay in Chichester without driving?
Yes, using rail and the station shuttle. Goodwood’s published 2026 arrangements make the Chichester shuttle complimentary. Confirm the dated 2027 last service, especially if you plan to stay for Saturday evening. Checked October 2026.
Plan the rest of your trip
Compare the Revival guide for September's historic racing and period atmosphere, or the Festival of Speed guide for July's Hillclimb and paddock exploration. They share a setting in the wider estate but have different venues, access and travel arrangements.
Use the UK Motorsport hub to compare another historic or contemporary race weekend. If membership-based entry is not the right fit for your party, choose an event with an admission process that suits everyone rather than trying to stretch the guest rules.
Before paying, write down which person holds the eligible membership, how the tickets will reach each guest and where the group will meet. Add the hotel nights and return transport, then share the plan. That is more useful than assuming everybody understands the same phrase, such as a weekend package.
For a repeat visit, spend first on the part you missed last time: a quieter arrival, another viewing area or a day in Sussex together. A good Members' Meeting trip grows from the sporting experience you enjoy, with the membership and practical details supporting it.
